Kim began practicing yoga in 2001 while living and working full time as a licensed massage therapist on Bainbridge Island in Washington. At that time Kim also rowed competitively on a master’s level women’s crew team. Both her work and her sport were physically demanding and led Kim to find yoga to increase her flexibility and provide an “inward” workout. In addition to working as a massage therapist for 10 + years, Kim has most recently worked as a credentialed classroom teacher and is a mother to an 11 year old son. Kim earned her EYT 200 hour yoga instructor certificate from Sage Yoga Studios in April of 2016. Kim’s work as a massage therapist deeply informs her instruction as a yoga teacher. Her strong understanding of anatomy and physiology guides her to provide safe, alignment based instruction while offering modifications of poses and hands-on assists, if desired. Kim also teaches kid’s yoga and hopes to combine her background in education with her love of yoga to one day bring yoga programs into the schools. She looks forward to sharing the gift of yoga with people of all ages.
